A Plastic-Free Haven

What is particularly commendable is their efforts in keeping the space 99% plastic-free, focusing on reusable and refillable options. You'll find refill stations for water, coffee, mint tea, and more, all served in ceramic or glass cups.

Most ingredients are sourced from local farmers who share the cafe’s commitment to sustainability.

Going plastic-free means no bottled drinks here, not even bottled water. This not only cuts down on waste but also reduces the carbon footprint.

Eco-Friendly Packaging

One of the most significant waste footprints from a cafe comes from its packaging materials.

However, Ra-Bakery minimized their carbon footprint on packages by using the alternatives.

Cafe ensures plastic-free packaging by using compostable sugarcane bagasse containers, which is a commendable step towards reducing environmental impact.

These eco-friendly packages decompose naturally, leaving no harmful residue behind unlike fossil fuel based plastic containers. Finding these alternatives were not easy for them, yet they managed, demonstrating their dedication to running an environmental conscious business.

Fact: Did you know? Sugarcane bagasse is a byproduct of sugar production, making it a sustainable alternative to plastic packaging.

Supporting the Local Economy

The café prides itself on sourcing most of its ingredients from local markets and farmers. This commitment to local sourcing not only strengthens the community but also benefits everyone involved, from growers to consumers.

For instance, the wheat used in their popular sourdough bread comes from a nearby collective of conscientious farmers. This ensures the bread has the perfect texture to satisfy your taste buds while providing transparency about the origins of your food.

Eco-Friendly Kitchen

Overall, this place would leave you inspired thanks to all the efforts took by Chefs and Anshul, the Café's owner, ensuring several sustainable practices to keep their kitchen very eco-friendly.

For example, the use of this black clay pot to cook meals that gives the earthy flavours to food.

Well, without a responsible waste disposing sustainability has no meaning for the businessess.

So they’ve partnered with private waste management services to ensure that non-organic waste is disposed of responsibly,  and most organic waste goes either to feed cows or compost.

Another very cool thing we found that in a few months, you would get to see a planter growing plants from air!

Thanks to the owner’s passion for biophilic design, the cafe will feature blooming aeroponics, a method where plants thrive on a nutrient-rich mist and UV light. If this works their is no excuse to not have indoor plants.
